Description
Lindores House, built around 1820 and later, is a two-storey building with a basement, featuring a harled and white-washed exterior and a broad-eaved, low-pitched slated roof. The southeast front originally had a three-window bow with steps, while the west side has one window and the east side has two windows. It is possible that this is a reconstruction of an older house. The building was extended by two windows on the west side by Rodger Architects around 1956. The northwest front is asymmetrical, showcasing a jerkin-head gable and a later porch. Notable architectural details include unusual late classical features with no margins, consoled cornices, and cills only. Inside, there is simple yet distinctive work, including a good marble chimney-piece.
