Description
Abdie Parish Kirk was designed by William Burn in 1827. It features a simple round-arched style, constructed from pinned whinstone with stugged freestone dressings and a slated roof. The building has a rectangular plan with three-window flanks and a two-window west gable. At the east gable, there is a broad gabled porch with a rectangular Italianate tower belfry above, which has three by two arches and a broad eaved roof. Inside, there is a single east gallery supported by cast iron columns. The original pulpit was partly restyled in 1923 when the interior was recast by J. Jeffrey Waddell from Glasgow.
