Description
The stables, located at Mountquhanie House, comprise two ranges built at different times. The south front dates to 1811, as indicated by a shield, and is a symmetrical, two-storey building in a classical style. It features a central arched pend, flanked by coachhouses, with two window bays between. The construction is of rubble with margins and droved dressings. Originally, three pediments were present. The roof is now covered in asbestos. The north range has a lintel dated 1774, above a moulded, arched doorway with an infill panel bearing the date 1683, and is covered with slate. Good wrought-iron gates mark the entrance on the north side.
