Description

The Shore House, located at 9 Pan Ha' in Panhall, Dysart, dates back to 1750 and was reconstructed in 1969 by W Schomberg Scott. This two-storey and attic, L-plan traditional house features a crowstepped design and is part of a terrace to the west. The exterior is harled with painted margins and includes an architraved and block banded doorpiece, which has an inscribed stone reading 'TS/AH 1750'.

On the east elevation, there are steps leading up to a Gibbsian-style doorpiece with a dated cartouche above it, positioned in the bay to the right of the center. To the left, there is a window at the first floor and a smaller window close to the eaves in a slightly recessed bay on the outer left. The bay to the right has a window on each floor.

The south elevation features a gabled bay to the right with two windows on each floor and in the attic, with the ground floor windows being smaller. There is a panelled timber door in the center, a window at the first floor, and a small dormer window above. Additionally, there is a small horizontal window on the ground floor to the left and another window at the first floor.

On the north elevation, there is a lower wing to the right with a door at the outer right on the ground floor, and a forestair leading to a door at the first floor, flanked by windows. A dormer window is located on the outer right. The taller advanced gable to the left has a window at the first floor on the left side, with a return to the right that features a window on the left and a smaller window close to the eaves. There is a boundary wall adjoining the outer left.

The windows are timber sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with pantiles, and there are harled stacks with thackstanes and ashlar-coped skews. The boundary walls are made of harled and rubble materials.
