Description
The Farm Cottages at Carngour are a single-storey L-plan group built from rubble with dressings, completed in their current form by 1855. The south cottage, which is positioned at right angles to the rest, is dated 1830. This group features three windows with original outer glazing, while the center window was originally a door. The cottages have a pantiled roof with slate easing, and the gables have squat ashlar end stacks with block cornices. The remainder of the range includes stugged ashlar dressings, two doors, and three windows, along with one window set back in a piended addition to the north. The roofs are also pantiled, with short ashlar ridge stacks featuring cavetto cornices where they are original. Other stacks are taller, made of ashlar to the south and rendered brick at the addition.
