Description
The Halifax Building Society, located at 138-140 and 140A High Street in Falkirk, was built in 1832 for the Commercial Bank. This three-storey building features a Greek Revival style with a giant portico in the Ionic order, which is distyle in antis. The façade includes one-window pilastered flanking bays. Unfortunately, the ground floor has been altered and is now occupied by shops.
