Laurieston House, 2 Polmont Road, Laurieston

Laurieston House is an early 19th century villa designed in the late Georgian style. It stands two storeys high and features three bays. The central porch is supported by Doric columns and has an iron balcony above. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, with rustication at the ground floor. The windows are sash and case, with 8 over 8 panes on the ground floor and 6 over 6 panes on the upper floor. However, there is an inappropriate modern door and a modern window at the first floor. The house has gable-head stacks, skews, and a slate roof. There is a low boundary wall along the street with a lintelled gateway, though the iron railings are not original.
