Description
This building at 58 High Street, Musselburgh, dates from around 1910 and is a three-storey Free Renaissance tenement that includes a pub and a bank on the ground floor. It features four windows facing High Street and two windows facing Newbiggin. A corner tourelle is corbelled from the first floor and again at the second floor, rising into an octagonal drum topped with a broad-eaved Delhi-type slated roof. The ground floor is constructed of ashlar coursed rubble, which is platformed and sits above an entablature over the pub and bank fronts. There is a heavy corbel table at the second-floor windows, with dormers that have alternating triangular and segmental pediments, except for a bipartite window at the western end that features a crowstepped gablet.
