Description

The North Range of the steading at Williamstone Farm in North Berwick is a U-plan structure that has earlier ranges to the east and west. It was reworked around 1800 into new buildings, with the south side enclosed by a mid-18th century farmhouse. The building is constructed of rubble with droved ashlar dressings, and much of the interior is whitewashed. The west range features two cattle courts from around 1800, which include stone corbelled shelters with pentice roofs added in the mid-19th century. The north range contains a former byre and bothy. The east range has a pend and barn that have been raised and extended to the east, along with a mid-19th century engine house. The roofing consists of pantiles and some areas have corrugated asbestos.
