Description

  1. 2-storey 3-bay villa, built as manse. Stugged grey sandstone ashalr, squared and coursed, with droved ashlar dressings; base and eaves courses; chamfered reveals, in mannered treatment at 1st floor; stone mullions. Gabled dormerheads with small blind circular panels.

S ELEVATION: deep-set door at centre with consoled cornice; fanlight, modern doors. Small bipartite window above. Bipartite at ground to outer right with 1st floor window above just breaking eaves in gabled dormerhead. Outer bay to left gabled and advanced with full-height canted window and blind arrow slit in gablehead.

E ELEVATION: window to each floor at centre.

W ELEVATION: set-off chimney breast at centre, dividing outer bays; ground floor window to each bay with 1st floor window breaking eaves, detailed as above.

N ELEVATION: 3-bay; stair window at centre, gabled bay to outer right; modern conservatory at ground.

Plate glass and 4-pane glazing patterns in sash and case windows. Roll-moulded skewputts; ashlar coped skews and ball finials; purple slates.

GATES AND GATEPIERS: decorative wrought-iron gates; ashlar gatepiers with chamfered corners and gablet caps.
