Description
The Volunteer Arms is an early 19th century, three-storey, symmetrical, three-bay house located on Victoria Street in Dunbar. The building is harled and features a painted projecting base course, margins, and a cill course on the first floor. A short flight of modern steps leads to the central door, which is accompanied by a cast-iron balustrade that forms a small forestair. The house has plate glass sash windows, with the windows on the second floor being smaller and positioned under the eaves. It also has broad gable head stacks and a slate roof that includes two slated dormers from the 19th century.
