Description
Rose Cottage is an 18th century single-storey cottage that has been significantly altered in the earlier and later 19th century. It is constructed of random rubble with raised, droved ashlar dressings featuring chamfered arrises around the openings.
The southeast elevation has a steeply-pitched gable that is advanced at the center, featuring a bipartite light and a blind slit above. The skews are raised in ashlar and the gablet is coped, dating from the earlier 19th century. The low east and west elevations have lean-to additions. The windows are plate glass sash and case. The roof is pantiled, with a change in color noted in the later northern addition, and there are coped ashlar ridge stacks.
