Description
Home Farm is a mid-19th century steading arranged in a U-shape. It is constructed of rubble yellow stone with droved grey ashlar dressings, all topped with grey slates. The colour of the stone and dressings matches the mid-19th century additions to Eaglescairnie House.
The South range consists of a 7-bay stable, cartshed and granary. The stable occupies the east end, entered via a doorway in the east gable. Original timber stall divisions and hayhecks remain, along with granite setts. Four segmental cart arches are set into the south elevation, centrally located and at the west end, with chamfered reveals. Granary windows are positioned above each bay on both the south and north elevations, and a hayloft door is present in the east gable. Gablet skewes and a consoled skewputt decorate the gable end.
A two-stage sawamill is located at the north end of the West range. Sheepfolds are positioned at the centre of the courtyard.
