Description

An earlier 19th-century bridge of rubble red sandstone spans Colstoun Water. The bridge features a semi-circular arch formed of voussoirs. It is flanked by a parapet with squared and droved sandstone coping, pilastered outer panels set above the arch jambs, and curved splays at the ends. A single rubble drum pier is located to the northeast. Colstoun boundary walls adjoin the parapet to the east and west. The bridge relating to the Colstoun driveway is listed as a separate item. The mansion house of Colstoun, within Haddington Parish, is nearby. This bridge is shown on an Ordnance Survey map from 1853.
