Description
15 High Street in Dunbar is a later 18th century, symmetrical, three-storey, three-bay house. It is constructed of squared sandstone rubble, which is partly coursed and rendered at the sides and rear, with ashlar dressings and quoins. The windows have painted margins and raised cills. The entrance features a flush panelled door that is set back and includes a decorative fanlight. The roof is low pitched and covered with slate, featuring flat-roofed slated dormers at the rear. At the back, there is a forestair with an iron balustrade, which is partly integrated into a flat-roofed, two-storey cottage that is positioned at right angles to the house.
Inside, there is a winding sandstone stair and window shutters.
Additionally, there is a stable located at the rear of number 15, situated in a cobbled court and linked to the house by a later intermediate cottage. This stable is built of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and has a pantiled roof with slated eaves easing course. The stable features a gabled hay loft entrance to the left and stable doors on the right.
