Description
Dating to the mid-19th century, 4 East Garleton Cottages is a pair of single-story cottages. The cottages are constructed using squared and snecked rubble with cream ashlar dressings, featuring hoodmoulds above the windows. Each cottage has a door with a strip fanlight, surmounted by a large, bracketted gabled doorhood that breaks the eaves line. The arrangement of windows is tripartite in the central bay, with a small opening to the inner bay and a bipartite window in the outer bay. The windows are sash and case with lying-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, with bracketted eaves to the gable ends, and coped ashlar end and ridge stacks. The cottages are referenced as buildings numbered 1 and 2 East Garleton Cottages.
