Description
64 Main Street in Dunlop is a pair of cottages built in the later 18th century, with some later alterations and 20th century additions at the rear. The cottages are single storey with an attic and feature a pair of late 19th century canted piend-roofed dormers, along with gablehead stacks. The exterior is finished in painted render with painted ashlar margins, and includes an eaves course, a base course specifically for No 64, quoin strips, and raised margins around the windows and doors.
The front doors are timber-boarded, flanked by bipartite windows that have stone mullions, and there are additional windows on the east and west gables. The attic dormers are slate-hung. The windows predominantly feature 4-pane glazing in timber sash and case style. The chimneys are made of stone with yellow clay cans, and No 64 has a coped skew. The roof is covered with graded grey slate, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods.
