Description
30 St Cuthbert Street is an early 19th-century terraced house and shop. It has two storeys and an attic, with three bays. The exterior features painted droved ashlar with margins. The building includes a well-designed shop front and a round-arched entrance to the upper floors on the left, both beneath a fascia and cornice supported by engaged cast-iron columns. There is a pend on the left that is shared with No 32. The first floor has two windows with 4-pane sashes in the outer bays, and a later canted window in the center. Additionally, there are two large gabled dormers at the wallhead, which were added in the later 19th century. The roof is slate, with a stack located on the right. A revision in 1991 noted that the elevation was rendered.
