Description

This is an ornamental granite bridge spanning Craigshinnoch Burn, situated near Glenlee Park House. The bridge was constructed after 1853. It features a round arch built entirely of bull-faced ashlar, with a post-and-lintel parapet. The lintels have scalloped undersides. The bridge is part of the wider Glenlee Park group. An earlier wooden bridge on the same site is shown on a drawing of the house from 1822. The bridge first appeared on the Ordnance Survey second edition map of 1893.
