Description

2 adjoining 2-storey 3-bay buildings arranged in L-plan.

a) EDINBURGH WOOLLEN MILL SHOP: (facing Market Place)

earlier/mid 19th century, full-length fascia between floors

with 20th century shop below (2 3-bay shop fronts flanking

blocked central door); coursed rubble with rusticated quoins

and 1st floor window margins (single-pane sashes); cornice;

stacks removed.

b) 56 HIGH STREET: mid 18th century; painted render with

contrasting chamfered ashlar margins (render continued on

shop E gable); central door, window to right also now a door;

modern glazing. Stacks removed. Slated roof.
