Description
This is an early 19th century garden cottage, and forms part of a group of buildings with Gelston Castle and Stables. The original cottage is a two-storey, three-bay structure built of painted rubble with polished raised angle and window margins, and a cill band at the first floor. A central gabled porch is present. It has pointed-arch windows with small pane glazing, and a piended slate roof. A two-bay extension, built later and designed to match the original in detail and proportion, is slightly recessed. Flanking the cottage are a pair of tall square ashlar gatepiers topped with ball finials, and a pair of ornate wrought-iron gates.
