Description

New Abbey Bridge, dated 1715, is a road bridge featuring two asymmetrical segmental arches over the New Abbey Pow. Although the bridge has been doubled in width, its original profile has been preserved. It is constructed from rubble with white granite voussoirs and pointed cutwaters. The bridge also has a red ashlar coping on slightly ramped parapets, which are splayed at the approaches.
