Description
1 Solway Street in Annan is an earlier 19th-century building with a later wing. It is a single-storey, three-bay structure located at the corner of the site, constructed from red sandstone ashlar. The building features raised margins around the openings and a lintel course.
On the Scott Street elevation, there is a doorway in the center flanked by large window bays. The Solway Street elevation also has a central doorway, with a large window bay to the left and a smaller window to the outer left. Above the left window, there is a carved stone street sign inscribed "Solway Street 1833." A round-arched niche is present in the gable above the doorway, and there is a stack at the gable apex. The later wing on the outer right has two widely spaced windows and a gable return with a stack at the apex.
The windows are currently boarded up, and the building has a grey slate roof with a roof light located in the center of the Scott Street elevation.
