Description

Darrochmhor is a single-storey house with an attic, built around 1955 by A M Goudie. It has an L-shaped plan and features a gabled design, situated on a sloping site. The exterior is finished with harl and has red brick dressings, along with a timber porch. There is a brick base course and decorative brick detailing at the apex of the gable. A later single-storey extension has been added to the rear (east).

On the west (entrance) elevation, there is a single window at ground level in the central gabled bay, and a triangular stair window at the first floor. The porch to the outer left has a recessed timber door and window, while there is another single window to the outer right. The steeply pitched overhanging roof features two catslide dormers in the attic.

The north (side) elevation has single windows in the centre of the gabled bay at both ground and attic levels, with a timber door leading to a flat-roofed section on the outer left.

On the south (side) elevation, there is a single window in the centre of the gabled bay at the first floor, while the ground level window has been infilled. To the outer right, there is a three-light window in the flat-roofed section.

The building has multi-pane metal glazing, a red tile roof, brick coped ridge stacks, and circular chimney cans.

Inside, as observed in 2012, the original room layout remains largely intact. It features single panel timber doors and a dog-leg timber stair with a solid banister and timber handrail.

The property is enclosed by coped painted boundary walls and has square-plan gatepiers with pyramidal caps at both the pedestrian and vehicular entrances. There is also a garage located to the north of the house.
