Description
An early 19th-century stone bridge spanning the River Bladnoch near Glassoch, situated on the boundary between Penninghame and Kirkcowan parishes. The single arch is constructed with bull-faced granite voussoirs forming the soffit and springers, while the spandrels and abutments are built with rubble. The bridge has a rubble parapet finished with bull-faced granite coping. The carriageway, approximately 40 feet in span and 15 feet wide, has a slightly humpbacked profile. The bridge was strengthened and repainted in 1993. Statutory address: BRIDGE OVER BLADNOCH RIVER AT GLASSOCH.
