Description
The former store at 2 High Street in Kirkcudbright is an early 19th-century terraced house. It is two stories high with a cellar and has three bays. The exterior is made of painted squared rubble with ashlar margins and long and short dressings. The central entrance features an architraved door with a fanlight above, a reeded frieze with an oval panel, and a cornice. There is a cill band beneath the first-floor windows, which are all 12-pane sashes. The building has a cornice, a blocking course, end stacks, and a piended slate roof. At the rear, there is a tall round-arched stair window. To the right, there is a low two-storey store that has been converted into a garage, constructed of rubble with a slate roof. Additionally, there is a square-plan, piend roofed summerhouse located in the garden at the rear.
