Description

Carruthers is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay farmhouse. It is constructed from coursed, roughly squared rubble with polished dressings and margins. The south elevation features a central pilastered wide doorpiece with the original door, which now has glazed top panels and a fanlight above. The windows are 12-pane sashes. The building has an eaves course, a cornice, and end stacks that are shouldered at the base. The roof is piended and has a platform design, covered with graded slates. The three-bay north elevation also includes 12-pane sashes and a piended central porch.
