Description
This is an 18th-century dovecot, likely of lectern design, situated within the grounds of Glasserton Home Farm. The dovecot is square and lacks a roof. It is constructed of rubble walls which have been rendered and feature projecting rat-courses. A barrel-vaulted basement is present. The upper levels contain nesting boxes, approximately 400 in total, made of brick and slate. A triangular sandstone panel, coloured red, is set into the top level, incorporating flight holes and perches, alongside a rectangular opening. A doorway is located in the north wall, with sandstone jambs that are chamfered. The dovecot is linked to Glasserton Home Farm.
