Description
Craigielea, near Braehead, is a late 18th-century property formed from a row of cottages that have been combined into a single residence. It is constructed of painted rubble, with contrasting painted ashlar dressings. The central three-bay section features a front door positioned between windows, alongside a window in the outer left bay and a rear window incorporating access to an outbuilding. The building has end stacks and internal stacks dividing the bays in a pattern of two, three, and one. The end gables are lop-sided, with higher eaves at the rear. Modern uPVC windows and a door are present, as are graded grey slate roof coverings and a sandstone ridge. The property was formerly listed under the name "Newton."
