Description
37 George Street in Dumfries is a pair of late Georgian terraced houses, likely built around 1830. These two-storey homes feature attics and a railed basement. The houses are constructed of red ashlar stone, with number 35 having been cleaned and number 37 painted. The ground floor is channelled, and both houses have rusticated flat window arches. They include pilastered doorpieces, recessed panelled doors with fanlights, and inset pilasters. There are band courses between the floors, an eaves band, a cornice, and a blocking course, along with end stacks and slate roofs. Number 35 has two bays with an advanced entrance bay and two dormers, one of which is larger, piended, and canted. Number 37 features three bays.
