Description

Carronhill West is an early 19th century symmetrical two-storey, three-bay house, with a mid-19th century two-storey asymmetrical house added to the east. The original house is built of pink ashlar, while the addition features contrasting red dressings. It has sash windows with 12-pane glazing. The original house includes a painted central pilastered doorcase, a door with glazed upper panels and a fanlight, and a continuous first-floor cill band. The stacks are symmetrically placed, and it has a piended roof with a platform that extends to link with the addition.

The addition has a south elevation with two asymmetrically advanced gabled bays, a projecting gable to the east, and a porch in the re-entrant angle with a south-facing Tudor-arched door. There is a low rear wing, saw-toothed skews, and corniced stacks, with all roofs slated. At the rear, there is a cobbled courtyard and outbuildings.
