Description
Muckhart Parish Church, located in Pool of Muckhart, was built in 1838 and features a simple rectangular design constructed from rubble. The church has three splayed semi-elliptically arched windows on each side, all with original glazing. The west gable is harled and topped with a small square bellcote at the apex. Inside, there is a west gallery, original pews, and an original pulpit, although there are some modern additions that keep the overall appearance plain. The east gable includes four skewputts dated 1620, 1699, 1713, and 1789, along with a Victorian Romanesque monument by Christie of Cowden. The porch and session room at the west end are modern but designed to match the style of the original building.
