Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, attic and basement, 3-bay terraced classical house. Polished ashlar sandstone; broached ashlar sandstone at basement. Base course; band course between basement and principal floor; cill course at principal and 1st floors; mutuled cornice and blocking course at 1st floor. Ashlar steps and entrance platt oversailing basement.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: pilastered and corniced doorpiece in bay to left at principal floor, with 9-panel timber door and plate glass rectangular fanlight. Architraved and corniced windows in remaining bays at principal floor; architraved windows in bays at 1st floor. Regular fenestration at basement. Flagged basement area.

W ELEVATION: adjoining terrace, see separate listing (21-23A Albany Street).

E ELEVATION: adjoining terrace, see separate listing (27-33 Albany Street).

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof. Polygonally piended dormer to right. Cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered ridge stack; coped, with circular cans. Coped skews.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.

RAILINGS: ashlar copes surmounted by cast-iron railings with spear-headed and urn finials.
