Description

The Mercat Cross in Gilmerton, Edinburgh, was built in 1892 and is located southeast of the stables. It features a large sandstone ashlar cross with cruciform arms, which is mounted on a tall polygonal column. The base is square and includes an inscription. This structure is a facsimile of the shaft and capital of the Edinburgh Mercat Cross.
