26-28 Kirk Street, Leith, Edinburgh

30-32 Kirk Street in Leith, Edinburgh, is a mid-19th century group of four, four-storey tenement buildings with cellars and attics. They feature a stripped classical style, constructed from cream sandstone with a stugged ashlar front, coursed rubble at the rear and southwest, and brick on the northeast elevation. The buildings have a base course, a band course above the doorways, and a band cill course at the first floor, along with chamfered arrises to the doorways.

On the southwest (front) elevation, each tenement has a common stair doorway to the right of the center, with main door flats to the left. The panelled doors are located at Nos 28, 34, and 36, while Nos 26 and 34 feature 3-pane fanlights. There are single windows in the remaining bays above. The end houses have narrow shouldered wallhead stacks at the center, and rectangular dormers with half-piended roofs.

The northeast (rear) elevation includes single windows and four-storey square brick projections for each tenement, with doorways on the flanks. The northeast elevation is brick-built, gabled with a broad ashlar apex stack, and has single windows at the third floor to the right. The southwest elevation is also gabled with an apex stack.

The buildings have timber sash and case windows, some with 12 panes, mostly featuring plate glass glazing, along with some modern replacement windows. The roofs are slate piend and platformed, with two wallhead and two apex stacks, and prominent tall mutual stacks rising from the wallhead. There are also downpipe recesses.

Inside, there is a stone stair at the rear with a plain timber handrail.
