Description

Mid 19th century, pre 1853. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan house, formerly part of Swanfield mills. Cream sandstone, squared and snecked rubble with droved dressings, rendered to rear.

E (FRONT) ELEVATION: doorway to centre with narrow fanlight; regular fenestration above and to outer bays.

W (REAR) ELEVATION: blank ground floor with blocked openings; 4 windows at 1st floor.

N ELEVATION: gabled with apex stack; small window to gablehead.

S ELEVATION: gabled with apex stack; 2 small windows, larger blocked opening with blocked window inside. Metal arch attached with modern inscription 'Swanfield' and flying goose motif, iron wheatsheaf bollard, 1980s.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Slate roof with small iron skylights. 2 apex stacks (see above).

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.
