Description

Archibald MacPherson, 1906. 2-storey, 3-bay Freestyle villa. Squared and snecked sandstone with long and short surrounds. Swept overhanging eaves; bargeboards; half-timbering to gables.

S (FRONT) ELEVATION: advanced gabled bay at right, with canted mullioned and transomed window with parapet at ground; tripartite window to 1st floor above; recessed panelled entrance door with small bipartite window at left to single storey porch with parapet, stepped and raised at centre, to re-entrant angle; mullioned and transomed bipartite window to bay to left at ground; bipartite window to bays above with swept-roofed gabled dormers; piend-roofed single storey addition to rear of E (side) elevation; canted bay with bipartite window above to W (side) elevation, with later addition towards rear.

Small-paned timber sash and case glazing. Grey slate roof; tall, banded stack between left-hand and central bay; banded wallhead stacks to E (side) elevation; squat cylindrical cans; cast-iron rainwater goods.

BOUNDARY WALLS: coped squared and snecked sandstone boundary walls with railings to lowered sections.
