Description

Circa 1860. 2-storey and attic 7-bay flatted classical terrace comprised of former 3-bay house and 2, 2-bay houses. Stugged ashlar with ashlar dressings. Base course; cill course to 1st floor; cornice and blocking course. Regular fenestration; moulded architraves at ground; doors with rectangular fanlights, architraves and cornice. Canted piend-roofed dormers.

NORTH FORT STREET ELEVATION: 3 bays to left with door at centre, pair of canted dormers. 4-bays to right with pair of doors at centre; outer windows at 1st floor breaking cill course, with wrought-iron window guards; pair of dormers. Downpipe recess dividing.

MADEIRA PLACE ELEVATION: 3-bay coursed rubble gable; left bay with basement window, blank at 1st floor. Extending to left corniced doorway with panelled door.

Rubble rear elevations with projecting central bays; carved tablet to No 18.

Timber sash and case 4-pane windows (12-pane to rear and gable). Grey slates; broad coped ashlar stacks; ashlar coped mutual skews.

WALLS: low coursed stone front wall with ashlar saddleback coping; taller garden wall to Madeira Place with semi-circular coping.
