Description
The North Gate-Piers at The Drum in Gilmerton, Edinburgh, were likely built around 1730 by William Adam. They consist of a pair of tall, rusticated gatepiers made of cream sandstone ashlar, featuring a frieze and cornice at the former northern entrance to The Drum Estate. There are later rubble walls adjoining the piers, and the lower area between the piers has been infilled. A pedestrian passage that was formed in the wall is also blocked, and there is no access remaining.
