Description
Frederick Thomas Pilkington, 1869. 2-storey terrace comprising pair of symmetrical 5-bay blocks with original detailing. Stugged, coursed sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. Banded eaves course with corbelled eaves; saw-toothed skews to gables. Chamfered architraves, stop-chamfered to central windows at ground; at outer and central bays, colonettes and pilasters with elaborate capitals to 1st floor windows, mannered masonry and rosette to gables; stylised cross finials to gables.
E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: outer bays of each block advanced; 3 basket-arched windows at ground; upper storey chamfered; 4-light round-arched windows with side lights under stone corbels; pair of windows to centre at ground with naturalistic carving over lintel; panelled timber doors to flanking bays, with similar carving; bipartite to centre at 1st floor above, with round-arched lights; single window to flanking bays.
2-pane timber sash and case glazing. Grey slate roof; coped ridge stacks with moulded octagonal cans; cast-iron rainwater goods.
