Description
Lauriston Castle is a tower-house built before 1600, featuring three storeys and an attic, with a turreted design and constructed from rubble. The original layout was T-shaped, measuring 40 feet by 24 feet. In 1827, the building was remodelled with a large two-storey Scots-Tudor addition designed by William Burn. Further modifications took place in 1845, likely by W.H. Playfair, which included the addition of two porches and various internal improvements.
