Description

Circa 1910. 4-storey, 8 bays to E (Piershill Terrace), 17 bays to N (Piershill Place), baronial tenement block with finialled polygonal towers, alternately pyramidal- and ogee-roofed. Coursed red sandstone. Base course; continuous cornice to ground floor passing over down pipes; cill courses to 1st and 3rd floors. Wallhead stacks , corbelled out at 2nd floor, with small aedicules at 3rd floor. Windows in chamfered surrounds, corniced to 2nd and 3rd floors. Timber-panelled doors to flats in moulded surrounds with broken pediments, alternately triangular and swan-necked.

N (PIERSHILL TERRACE ELEVATION): shops to outer right with parapet above: stop-chamfered piers; key-stoned, depressed arched windows; round-arched door; timber boarded door to flats to centre in pilastered surround with oculus above.

Plate glass in timber sash and case windows and some non-traditional glazing. Steep pitched roof with graded grey slate and red terracotta ridge tiles. Ashlar coped skews. Tall coped stacks (some rendered) with cylindrical clay cans.

BOUNDARY WALL: low coped rubble boundary wall. Remains of original railings flanking door at number 15.
