Description

Circa 1840. 2-storey, 3-bay, symmetrical, rectangular-plan house, with 2-storey extension to W at rear, adjoining single storey gabled block to E. Squared and snecked sandstone rubble with droved quoins and long and short surrounds. Consoled cornice to doorpiece to entrance. Plain margins to windows ; block cills to 1st floor, block cills.

N (MAIN) ELEVATION: recessed door and fanlight to doorpiece to centre at ground; window to each flanking bay and to every bay at 1st floor. Small lean-to porch towards rear at E side; window to return.

2-pane timber sash and case windows; PVCu windows to ground. Grey slate piended roof to main block fronting Corstorphine Road and to block at W at rear; grey slate double-pitch roof to block at E; coped and shouldered wallhead stacks to each block with moulded octagonal and cylindrical cans; cast-iron rainwater goods.

BOUNDARY WALL: roughly coped tall rubble boundary wall, with round-arched opening to entrance gate.
