Description

Robert Morrison, 1807. 4-storey and basement, 3-bay symmetrical terraced tenement. Broached ashlar sandstone. Cill course to 1st floor windows; open pediment spanning bays at 2nd floor; cornice and blocking course at 3rd floor. Steps and entrance platt.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: later 3-bay shop front at principal floor, with 2-leaf timber common stair door, plate glass fanlight, to outer right, recessed glazed door with plate glass rectangular fanlight in centre bay, plate glass window to left; cornice with consoles. regular fenestration to floors above, with architraved and consoled window centred at 1st floor; architraved windows at 3rd floor.

N ELEVATION: adjoining terrace, see separate listing (Nos 28 and 30 Howe Street).

S ELEVATION: adjoining terrace, see separate listing (No 24 Howe Street).

Predominantly 12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate M-roof. Cast-iron rainwater goods. Brick gablehead stacks, coped with circular cans.
