Laverockdale Cottage, Dreghorn Loan, Edinburgh

Laverockdale Cottage is a late 18th century single-storey, four-bay gabled cottage, featuring later additions. The cottage has scrolled skewputts, a cross-finialed dormer-head window, and a canted bay on the northeast side. It is harled, with polished red sandstone ashlar dressings around the door and canted bay, and droved sandstone on the dormer-head window. There is an eaves course to the right of the door, and long and short quoins on the northeast gable.

On the southeast elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a roll-moulded doorway, a single window to the right, and a transomed crowstepped dormer-head window breaking the eaves to the left, complete with a cross finial and curled skewputts. There is also a single window to the left. A 20th century harled addition is located on the outer left, featuring a plain doorway on the southwest return.

The northeast elevation includes a central three-light canted window with a moulded cill and an eaves course. The northwest elevation was not accessible in 2002. The windows were boarded up in 2002. The cottage has coped ridge stacks with clay cans, ashlar coped skews with scrolled skewputts, a graded grey slate roof with a tiled ridge, and cast-iron rainwater goods.
