Description
7 Argyle Place in Edinburgh is a pair of two-storey, mirrored two-bay houses built around 1863. They are part of a continuous terrace on a rising site, with the gable ends stepped up. The exterior features coursed stugged ashlar with polished ashlar dressings, including base and eaves courses, overhanging bracketed timber eaves, and chamfered reveals.
On the west elevation, the entrances are located in the outer left and right bays, featuring moulded and lugged door surrounds, hoodmouldings, panelled doors, and plate glass fanlights. There are single windows above on the first floor, and bipartite windows in the central bays. The houses have 8-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, a coped, rendered, and lined mutual stack, moulded cans, and skylights.
The interiors have not been seen since 1990. The property also includes boundary coping to the street.
