Description
4 Argyle Place is a two-storey, four-bay symmetrical double villa built around 1863, forming part of a continuous terrace. The building features coursed stugged ashlar with droved margins on the west elevation, along with base and dividing band courses, overhanging eaves, and fielded aprons beneath the first-floor windows.
On the west (entrance) elevation, there are entrances in the outer left and right bays, each with panelled doors and plate glass fanlights above. The first floor has single windows above these entrances, while the central bays boast full-height canted windows.
The villa is fitted with four-pane sash and case windows and has a grey slate roof, which includes a tripartite box dormer. A coped, rendered, and lined mutual stack with moulded cans is also present.
The interiors were not seen in 1990. Additionally, there is a coped painted ashlar wall facing the street.
