Description
2 Argyle Place in Edinburgh is a two-storey, six-bay asymmetrical double villa built around 1863, located at the end of a continuous terrace. The building features squared and snecked sandstone rubble, with coursed stugged ashlar and droved margins on the west elevation. It has a base and a dividing band course, and the eaves showcase exposed rafters.
On the west (entrance) elevation, there are entrances at the second and fifth bays, which have panelled doors and plate glass fanlights above. The first floor has single windows above these entrances, while the first and fourth bays feature full-height canted windows with panelled aprons at the ground level. The remaining bays contain single windows.
The north elevation is blank. The villa has six-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with coped gable heads and mutual stacks, moulded cans, and skylights.
The interiors have not been seen since 1990. There is boundary coping along the street.
