Description
The Royal Scots Monument, located in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, was designed by Frank Mears and Partners along with C d'Orville Pilkington Jackson in 1950. This monument features a semicircular enclosure surrounded by rectangular standing stones, which have low relief panels created by Jackson that illustrate the history of the Regiment. The stones are connected by metal grilles that display inscriptions and medallions. At the center of the monument is a stone that lists the names of the campaigns in which the Regiment participated, along with a bronze plaque featuring a crown, initials, and the insignia of George VI.
