Description

3 Morningside Place is a classical villa built in 1824, featuring two storeys and three bays, along with single storey pavilions that have undergone later alterations. The front is finished in ashlar, while the sides and rear are constructed from rubble, with ashlar dressings and droved quoins. The front elevation includes a dividing band and cill courses at the first floor, topped by a cornice and blocking course.

On the south elevation, there is a pilastered doorpiece at the center with a plate glass fanlight above and a panelled door. To the right is a window, and to the left is a later canted window addition. The first floor has regular windows. The left pavilion has been altered to serve as a garage, while the right pavilion features a later tripartite window, both of which are concealed by a screen wall that hides a lean-to roof.

The side elevations include lean-to single storey pavilions, with a first floor window located at the center and wallhead stacks. The rear elevation has a stair window at the center above an off-centre door, with additional windows in the flanking bays and one in the left pavilion.

The front features plate glass glazing, while the rear has 12-pane windows, all in timber sash and case frames. The building has coped stacks and decorative cast-iron window guards on the first floor at the front.
